Overview

Workplace mediation supports employees, managers, employers and HR teams in addressing concerns and resolving workplace difficulties constructively. It provides a confidential and impartial space to discuss issues and agree a practical way forward.

Mediation may form part of an organisation’s internal grievance, disciplinary, employee relations, or workplace resolution procedures. An independent external mediator can also be appointed where additional neutrality would be helpful.

Workplace meeting and mediation discussion

Mediation may be requested by an employee, proposed by a manager or HR team, or offered by the organisation under its internal workplace procedures. Participation remains voluntary and the appointment of an external mediator will usually be agreed with the organisation.

Either. Mediation can be initiated by HR, management, or an individual employee, and I can help explain the process to the other party if needed.

Independent Workplace Hearings and Formal Process Support

I can act as an independent chair in disciplinary, grievance and other formal workplace proceedings. In this role, I manage the hearing impartially, ask questions of all those involved, review the relevant information and prepare a clear written report setting out the matters considered and any findings or recommendations.

My involvement can be tailored to the particular needs of the organisation and the circumstances of the matter.
