Mediation Services and Dispute Resolution Support

I am a mediator and UK-qualified solicitor with a longstanding background in commercial law. Since 2003, I have worked across a wide range of commercial matters and disputes, giving me a practical understanding of the legal, business and relationship issues that can arise.

Over time, one thing became increasingly clear to me: disputes are rarely about just the legal or commercial issues. Progress may be prevented by a breakdown in communication, damaged trust, or conversations that have simply become too difficult to have.

I bring both commercial judgement and an understanding of the wider dynamics affecting a dispute. I take the time to understand the business, the pressures involved and the priorities of each party, helping them assess risk, clarify their objectives and explore practical and workable solutions.

My decision to become a family mediator was shaped by personal experience. Having experienced separation and divorce, as well as the ongoing responsibilities of co-parenting, I understand that family breakdown is not simply a legal process. It can bring emotional strain, practical uncertainty and difficult decisions that affect the whole family, particularly where children are involved.

Having lived and worked in the region for over 12 years, I have also developed a strong understanding of the cultural, religious and practical considerations that can influence family relationships and decision-making. I bring this awareness to each mediation while remaining independent, impartial and attentive to the circumstances of both parties.

I am committed to supporting the development of mediation and alternative dispute resolution across the region. I have worked with the DIFC Courts in connection with the development of its Mediation Service Centre and deliver dispute resolution training through the DIFC Academy and for the Legal Affairs Department of the Government of Dubai. I also undertake court-annexed mediation appointments for the ADGM Courts and am a member of The Mediation Hub MENA and its Family Committee. Additionally, I am a Senior Lecturer in Law.

Based in Dubai, I work with clients across the UAE, the UK and internationally. I am multilingual, in English, Urdu and Hindi.

Trained through programmes accredited by IMI, CMC, SIMI and FMC. I am also a member of the Law Society of England and Wales and a Senior Fellow of Advance HE.
